Sustainable Industrial Metabolism

My research includes long-term energy modeling and scenarios, with a specific focus on options to reduce CO2 emissions, both in Sweden and on an international level. My research also includes economic valuation of climate change impacts.

I am on the editorial board of the journals Climatic Change, Ecological Economics and International Journal of Agricultural Resources, Governance and Ecology. Further, I was involved in the Third Assessment Report of The Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC), as a lead author and reviewer, and I am a member of the Center for Integrated Studies of the Human Dimensions of Global Change (Carnegie Mellon University, USA)..

Christian Azar received his position as a professor as a part of Chalmers Environmental Initiative .
